Disclaimer
Last updated: August 28, 2026
The information and materials provided on ternik.online ("ternik.online," "we," "us," or "our"), accessible at https://ternik.online (the "Site"), are offered for general informational and educational purposes only. By using the Site, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
1. General Information Only
All content on the Site — guides, explainers, diagrams, infographics, and recommendations — is provided in good faith and for general use. While we make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and current, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability of any content. Any reliance you place on it is strictly at your own risk.
2. You Follow These Guides at Your Own Risk
This is the most important section on this page. Our guides describe procedures you carry out on your own computer, and some of them are capable of destroying data or leaving a system unusable if performed incorrectly, on the wrong target, or on a configuration they were not written for. Erasing a Mac, changing startup behaviour, running Terminal commands, editing system settings, and deleting files from your Library folder all carry real risk.
Before following any procedure that modifies your system, back up your data and confirm the steps apply to your specific Mac and macOS version. Where we know a step differs between releases or between Apple silicon and Intel, we say so — but we cannot verify every configuration, and Apple changes menus and settings between releases.
We are not liable for data loss, hardware damage, lost work, or any other harm arising from following our guides. If the stakes are high and you are unsure, stop and consult a qualified technician or Apple Support.
3. Not Professional Advice
Nothing on the Site constitutes professional advice of any kind, including legal, financial, security-consulting, or data-recovery advice. Our security coverage in particular is general education, not a security audit of your specific device or a substitute for professional incident response if you believe you have been seriously compromised. Always seek guidance from an appropriately qualified professional for your circumstances.
4. Software Changes and Staleness
macOS is a moving target. Apple relocates settings between panes, renames features, changes defaults, and removes options between releases. A guide that was correct when published can become partially wrong without anything on our end changing. We date our guides, cite Apple's own documentation, and revise pages when we learn a step has moved — but a guide's age is always worth checking, and for anything critical you should confirm against Apple's support pages.
If you find a step that no longer matches what you see on screen, please tell us. Corrections take priority over new articles.
5. Not Affiliated with Apple
ternik.online is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to Apple Inc. Apple, macOS, MacBook, Mac, AirPods, Safari, and Time Machine are trademarks of Apple Inc., used here descriptively to identify the products our guides address. Other product and company names mentioned are the trademarks of their respective owners.
6. Advertising Disclosure
The Site is supported by advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. Advertisements are visually distinct from our editorial content. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the products, services, or claims made in third-party advertisements, and any dealings you have with an advertiser are solely between you and that advertiser.
Advertising does not influence our coverage. We do not sell editorial placement, we do not accept payment for a favourable assessment, and no advertiser reviews an article before publication. This matters in a subject area where a great deal of published advice exists to sell cleanup utilities — we say plainly when a popular product category does not do what it claims. See how we handle cookies and advertising data in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
7. Affiliate Disclosure
Some pages may contain affiliate links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you buy something after clicking, at no additional cost to you. Where a page contains affiliate links, it is disclosed on that page. Affiliate relationships never determine whether we recommend something, and a recommendation is not for sale.
8. External Links and Downloads
The Site links to third-party websites, principally Apple's support documentation, which we cite as sources. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, policies, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site. Inclusion of a link is not an endorsement, and accessing third-party sites is done at your own risk.
We do not host software downloads. Where a guide mentions third-party software, download it from the developer's own site or the Mac App Store — never from a pop-up or a search advertisement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ternik.online and its owners, operators, and contributors shall not be liable for any loss or damage — including indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive loss or damage, and including loss of data — arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of, or inability to use the Site or any content, links, or advertisements on it. The Site and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. See also section 11 of our Terms of Service.
10. Errors and Omissions
Although we aim for accuracy, the Site may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. We reserve the right to correct errors and to change or update content at any time without prior notice. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
11. Fair Use Notice
The Site may quote limited portions of third-party material — including Apple documentation and, in our literature section, short passages of published works — for commentary, criticism, scholarship, research, and education. We believe such use constitutes fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107. If you are a rights holder and believe any use exceeds fair use, contact hello@ternik.online or see our DMCA and Copyright Policy.
12. Changes to This Disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer to reflect changes to the Site or applicable law. When we make material changes we will post the revised Disclaimer on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
