Our Commitment to Copyright

ternik.online, accessible at https://ternik.online, publishes original instructional content: macOS guides written by our editors, along with diagrams and infographics we produce ourselves. We respect the intellectual property rights of others, and we expect the same in return.

Because our content is written in-house rather than uploaded by users, copyright complaints against this Site are uncommon — but they are possible. A quotation might exceed fair use, an image might be misattributed, or material might be reproduced in error. If you are a copyright owner, or an agent acting on their behalf, and you believe material on ternik.online infringes your copyright, this page explains how to notify us so we can review and, where appropriate, remove it.

We respond to clear and complete notices of alleged copyright infringement in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Before You File a Formal Notice

You are welcome to email us first. If you simply want to raise a concern, request attribution, or ask a question about how material is used, write to hello@ternik.online and we will look at it in good faith. Most issues of this kind can be resolved quickly and informally, and we would rather fix something than argue about it.

Please also consider whether the use may be permitted by law — for example as fair use for commentary, criticism, or education. Knowingly materially misrepresenting that material is infringing can expose you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), including damages and attorneys' fees.

How to File a Copyright (DMCA) Takedown Notice

If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on ternik.online in a way that constitutes infringement, send a written notice to our designated contact below. To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include substantially all of the following:

Your signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
Identification of the copyrighted work. A description of the work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are involved, you may provide a representative list.
Identification of the infringing material. A description of the material you claim is infringing, with information sufficient for us to locate it — ideally the exact URL of the page and the specific passage, image, or element in question.
Your contact information. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
A good-faith statement. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement of accuracy and authority, under penalty of perjury. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

What We Do When We Receive a Valid Notice

Upon receiving a notice that substantially complies with the requirements above, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material identified. We keep a record of the notices we receive.

Because the content on this Site is published by us rather than uploaded by third-party users, in most cases we will simply review the claim ourselves and remove or revise the material where there is legitimate doubt. Where material was contributed by someone else, we will make a good-faith effort to notify them so they may submit a counter-notification.

Counter-Notification

If material you provided was removed or disabled as a result of a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification. To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), it must include substantially the following:

Your signature — physical or electronic.
Identification of the removed material and the location (URL) at which it appeared before removal.
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your contact information — name, address, and telephone number.
A consent-to-jurisdiction statement — that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which ternik.online may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

Send counter-notifications to the same address above. If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed material no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receipt, unless we first receive notice that the original complainant has filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.

Repeat-Infringer Policy

In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), ternik.online has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the access of anyone found to be a repeat infringer of copyright. We may also remove material and restrict access at our discretion, with or without notice.

Our Own Content

The guides, diagrams, and infographics on this Site are our original work and are protected by copyright. Short quotations with clear attribution and a link to the source page are welcome. Wholesale republication, syndication, or reuse of our guides — including as training data for a commercial model — requires written permission, as set out in section 4 of our Terms of Service.

If you believe your site's content has been copied onto ternik.online, tell us and we will investigate. If you find our content republished elsewhere without permission, we would also like to know.

Trademark and Other Concerns

This policy addresses copyright. Apple, macOS, and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc., used descriptively; ternik.online is independent and not affiliated with Apple, as stated in our disclaimer.
