Terms of Service
Last updated: August 28, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using ternik.online. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by them.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at https://ternik.online and any related pages and features (together, the "Site"), operated by ternik.online ("ternik.online," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. Definitions
- "Content" means all guides, articles, text, images, diagrams, infographics, metadata, and other materials available on the Site.
- "Guide" means an individual instructional article published on the Site.
- "You" or "Reader" means any person who accesses or uses the Site.
- "Third-Party Services" means services operated by others, including advertising, analytics, and linked websites.
3. Eligibility
The Site is intended for a general audience. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction (generally under 18), you may use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. By using the Site you represent that you can form a binding contract and are not barred from doing so under applicable law.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
4.1 ternik.online publishes original instructional content about macOS and related topics. All guides, diagrams, infographics, site design, branding, and curation on the Site are our own work or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The "ternik.online" name and wordmark are our marks and may not be used without permission.
4.2 Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and read the Content for your own informational use. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the source page.
4.3 You may not republish, syndicate, or redistribute our guides in whole or in substantial part, whether on a website, in an application, in a newsletter, or as training data for a commercial model, without our prior written permission.
4.4 Third-party marks. Apple, macOS, MacBook, Mac, AirPods, Safari, and Time Machine are trademarks of Apple Inc. Other product names referenced in our guides are the trademarks of their respective owners. We use them descriptively to identify the software and hardware a guide addresses. ternik.online is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to Apple Inc. or any other company whose products we write about.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Site in violation of any applicable law;
- use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to systematically copy the Site or overload our infrastructure;
- interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or its servers;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices on materials we provide;
- use the Site to distribute malware or engage in fraudulent, harmful, or deceptive activity; or
- republish our content as your own or present it as endorsed by Apple Inc.
6. Following Our Guides
6.1 Our guides describe steps you carry out on your own computer. They are provided for general informational and educational purposes, and you follow them at your own risk. Some procedures we document — erasing a disk, changing system settings, running Terminal commands, removing files from your Library folder — can result in data loss or an unusable system if performed incorrectly or on the wrong target.
6.2 You are responsible for backing up your data before following any procedure that modifies your system, and for confirming that a step applies to your specific Mac and macOS version. Apple changes menus, settings, and behaviour between releases; where we know a step differs we say so, but we cannot guarantee currency for every configuration.
6.3 Nothing on the Site is professional advice. For anything critical, confirm against Apple's own support documentation or consult a qualified technician.
7. Third-Party Links
The Site links to Third-Party Services and external sources, principally Apple's support documentation, which we cite so you can verify what we have written. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site. Links do not imply endorsement, and your use of third-party sites is governed by their terms.
8. Advertising and Google AdSense
8.1 The Site is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
8.2 You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google My Ad Center, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising via optout.aboutads.info. Where required by law, consent for advertising and other non-essential cookies is collected through Google's consent management before those cookies are set.
8.3 We are not responsible for the content of advertisements or for the products or services they promote. Advertising has no influence on our editorial coverage; see our disclaimer.
9. Cookies and Analytics
9.1 The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality, advertising, and analytics. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
9.2 Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site. It sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, session duration, approximate location, and device and browser data. You can opt out across all websites using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
9.3 Your choices. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through the consent message shown on the Site. Readers covered by California and other privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising; see the Privacy Policy for how to exercise them.
10. Disclaimers and No Warranty
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any guide is accurate, complete, or applicable to your particular Mac or macOS version. Nothing on the Site is legal, financial, or professional advice.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ternik.online AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, INCLUDING ANY LOSS ARISING FROM FOLLOWING A PROCEDURE DESCRIBED IN A GUIDE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ternik.online and its owners and operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any law or third-party right.
13. Copyright Complaints
We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The full procedure, including everything a valid notice and counter-notice must contain, is set out on our DMCA and Copyright page. Notices go to hello@ternik.online with "DMCA Notice" in the subject line.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of ternik.online is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved in the courts having competent jurisdiction over that operator, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts, except where prohibited by applicable law.
15. International Readers
The Site is available internationally. We make no representation that the Content is appropriate or available in every location. If you access the Site from outside the operator's jurisdiction, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Site, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive termination.
18. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and ternik.online regarding the Site.
